Application Tips: Cover Under Eye Circles

Under eye circles are one of the most common beauty complaints but they are easy to cover with the right tools and products.

YOU NEED:

  • Eye balm
  • Base Concealer
  • Lip brush
  • Cotton bud

Note: concealer should be light and creamy so it moves with the skin and doesn’t look dry and cakey. The thicker formulas that come in sticks or tubs are often too dry and are better on blemishes.

HOW TO:

  1. Prime the skin first using a light eye balm so concealer glides on easily. Avoid eye gels under makeup as they flake.
  2. Apply a sheer Base under the eye area first.
  3. Use a brush about the size of a lip brush and work the concealer into your hand first to warm it up and make it easier to blend
  4. Apply concealer to the inner corner and darkest area of the orbit under the eye.
  5. Gently wipe away excess with a cotton bud.
  6. If the concealer goes cakey by the afternoon then dip your makeup brush in moisturiser and apply to under eye area.

TIPS: Avoid using powder around the eye area as this enhances lines and wrinkles. To help concealer stay in place, avoid heavy eye creams.
