The Hair Doctor

Philip Kingsley is the founder of the Trichological Clinics in London’s Mayfair and Harrods, and in New York. A practising trichologist for more than 50 years, he has also published three books on the subject of hair and scalp care. The New York Times has called him ’The Hair Guru’, US Vogue - ’The Hair Wizard’ and the Sunday Times - ’The Hair Doctor’. It was Philip who coined the phrases 'bad hair day' and, more recently, 'happy hair day'.

His internationally famous clinics in London and New York have treated many people in the public eye, including Audrey Hepburn, Kate Winslet, Candice Bergen, Cher, Jerry Hall, Barbra Streisand, Sigourney Weaver, Kirsten Dunst and Renee Zellwegger.

The Urban Retreat Hair Doctor range was created in consultation with Philip Kingsley, British Beauty Expert and world renowned trichologist. Philip has accumulated a wealth of hair and scalp health knowledge over an incredible 50 years in trichological practise. In 1992 Philip was honoured with an invitation to open a clinic in Harrods and on the clinic’s 15th anniversary in 2007 he has acted as a consultant for Urban Retreat’s Hair Doctor range for healthy hair and scalp.
